FAQs for sponsors:

Intrigued by Caffeine Crawl and interested in sponsoring a Crawl, or bringing it to your city? Here's how to get started:

Audience:

Consumers - There’s not another event in the country that not only attracts avid and curious coffee, tea, and chocolate consumers in attendance, but also has a large audience in these categories following the events online. Caffeine Crawl has a healthy following and interactive social media audience. Consumers are what keep shops and roasting companies in business, and other industry events focus solely on the industry audience.

Industry professionals - A given Caffeine Crawl typically has an 80-95% participation from the local shops and roasters in these beverage areas. Conferences in the industry receives a lot lower percentage involved from that host area. This event is often thought of as for consumers only, and that's not the case at all.  In addition, often shops and roasters outside of the area will travel in to attend a close Crawl for research, or a team building activity.

Example of recent viewership - Our first 2020 event was a three-day Caffeine Crawl in the San Diego area. Within a 28 hour span Caffeine Crawl social media and the website collectively received over 250,000 views. As a sponsor and participating shop this is traffic and interest that shifts to your business.

What do I get as a sponsor? A lot! This is the largest traveling consumer-friendly event in specialty coffee in the United States. We pride ourselves on treating our sponsors well, and making sure they receive a lot for their commitment. This isn't a 10k run, so there's more than just a logo placed here or there. All sponsors continue to receive benefits throughout the year they sponsor.

In a nutshell, you’ll get:
·      Prominent logo placement on web pages (perpetual, and frequently accessed by beverage lovers across the country), newsletters (event + year-end recaps), and Crawl materials including programs and signs. All very active marketing sources from us.
·      Frequent thank-you’s and mentions by tour guides, and on our busy social media channels. We have one of the most active social media outlets in the industry.
·      Tickets! You can attend the Crawl yourself or leverage the tickets to gain interest in your product in an online giveaway, to loyal customers in the area, etc.
·      The most direct targeted exposure to 100-300 attendees + shops, plus thousands of other viewers / followers in all aspects of the beverage industry, from owner to consumer. The Caffeine Crawl followers are very engaged and interactive.
·      Plenty of love! We have a good track record with the press coverage from upcoming community to the top national media sources. Visit our Press page to see the list of mentions.
·      Opportunity to place your product in front of consumers in multiple ways, depending on your level of sponsorship.
·      There's plenty more, but simply put, we help you shine!

Investment / ROI:
Caffeine Crawl attracts the area's most curious and avid consumers (no matter if a newbie or hardcore sipper), but also includes the community's specialty coffee and tea industry professionals more than any other coffee event in the country.

Most events, no matter what the subject matter take place, and the rewards for a sponsor are over. We have strived to carry on benefits and building brand/product awareness for our sponsorship partners throughout the year, beyond the date of the sponsored Caffeine Crawl. We have many ways we do that. Caffeine Crawl is considered one of the top specialty coffee references in the country where consumers and industry professionals view current content and social media posts, but also use previous content for ideas, research, and networking.

Industry conferences are great, and we promote those events even though they are not our events. To be a sponsor and travel to those events can take up a big chunk of a company's marketing budget without leads to pay for it. Jason has been going to industry conferences for years on both the retail/booth side and visitor side. We used part of our research to implement our follow through benefits that work. Our highest sponsorship level for an event is $1,500 with entry level sponsorship as low as $200. The reach and connections you will reach from a Caffeine Crawl is second to none.

Do you have different levels of sponsorship? Yes, and each level has a limited number of sponsors so we can give each sponsor the attention they deserve (for example, there is only one Platinum Level sponsor for each Crawl).
In addition, each level receives different benefits—Platinum Level, Gold Level, Craft Level, Silver Level, and Entry Level.

I want to bring Caffeine Crawl to my city. How? We need at least six independent coffee, tea or chocolate shops within 30 minutes of one another that are willing to participate, and a sponsorship commitment from several local businesses to get the process started. If you think your city fits, email Jason for more details.

I want to sponsor more than one Crawl. Can I? Absolutely! We thrive on building ongoing relationships, and have several sponsors that partner with us on multiple Crawls. We also have special year long sponsorship that are Official Product/Service spots that cover 12 months of Caffeine Crawls.

I want to do an in-kind sponsorship—does Caffeine Crawl do that? We occasionally negotiate partial product trade to reduce cost for a potential sponsor, but do require financial support to keep Caffeine Crawls running! We appreciate the give-back of local businesses to community events, and keep the event focus on our sponsors and participating businesses to make sure the investment pays back.

What kind of business can sponsor a Crawl? We work with quality-centric businesses that emphasize healthy relationship with employees and customers, and we love expanding our sponsorship connections to companies outside the beverage industry that are invested in their community! We've worked with banks, car dealerships, dairies, etc. . . if you have a focus on quality and investment in your local market, reach out - we'd love to talk Caffeine Crawl involvement!

How do I sponsor Caffeine Crawl? Easy. Contact Jason and he’ll hook you up with exact details.
