FAQs for Crawlers (ticket holders):

Love coffee, tea, chocolate, and other artisan beverages? Enjoy visiting new shops, tasting great drinks, exploring neighborhoods, and learning more about the people and techniques that go into the craft? By joining Caffeine Crawl, you will be supporting in your local "caffeinated" beverage culture and signing up for a route of riotous fun exploring different shops and roasters.

Questions? They’re below! If we missed something, email, tweet, or Facebook us!

What is Caffeine Crawl? Essentially, it’s the coolest event revolving around coffee shop culture that bridges the gap between consumers and industry in a celebration of local scene. There is not another national event like Caffeine Crawl. Our Crawls include quality driven coffee, tea (includes kombucha), craft chocolate, and sometimes fresh juice. There are multiple routes for each city's Caffeine Crawl, and a range of 4 to 6 organized stops per route. The common number is 5 for a route. Almost every route is slightly different. More specifics below.

What’s it like to go on a Caffeine Crawl? It’s a blast. Prepare to enjoy lots of drinks, usually coffee and tea. Samples at each stop often range in the 3 to 6 oz. sample size. You won’t be as jittery as you’d think, and depending on your route there might be a chocolatier/chocolate maker, and a few pairings along the way. Each stop includes a fun and educational presentation along with their sample they provide. You'll pick up some swag, and meet new people who love coffee as much as you do. You’ll be joining what’s becoming a cherished tradition for many folks across the country. We will be happy to see you.

Can I tell the shops on my route what I want to drink? Everyone is welcome to order a drink, or food, on the Crawl. Shops prepare ahead of time for this event with staffing, their presentation/talk, and samples they offer. Most routes are 15 people, so custom drinks aren't part of the Crawl experience, unless that is what the shop has planned. Some shops will offer alternative milks, or even have that as a part of their samples as the focus, and some Crawlers have been known to bring their own milk. We do not judge on what you add to your coffee.

I bought my ticket, now what? We’re thrilled to have you along. We’ll send you an email with more information pertaining to the route you selected. You will receive a physical ticket in the mail shipped from Kansas City, MO. The week leading up to the event you'll receive another email from us with reminders about the event, and your route program. Everything is sent to the email and mailing address that purchased the tickets. Please check your spam folders.

How do you choose cities for Crawls? We choose Crawl cities using an intuitive set of standards and requirements, including location of high-quality local shops, community and teamwork among shops, demand, and sponsorship. We also look for a strong network of passionate beverage folks who want to see us in their city and enough qualified shops. Think your city qualifies? Send us an email telling us why!

How do you choose shops for Crawls? Quality, friendliness, independence (no national chains), passion, and excitement. There's enough egos in each industry, and we strive to work with businesses that want to meet their customers, and strengthen their local food and beverage community.

Can I bring a plus-one? Only if they have a ticket. Contact us on details about young children. We're super kid friendly, and we have several pre-teens and teens that attend with a relative, also.

How should I dress? Weather-appropriate, with layers, unless it's burning up outside, since you’ll be going in and out of shops and vehicles. Comfy walking shoes are usually a plus. We've witnessed relationships beginning on Caffeine Crawls, so having a good hair day wouldn't hurt.

Do you provide buses or bike? We provide a guide on routes. We have completely gotten away from buses during COVID.
Often there are shorter distance routes designed for biking, jogging, or even walking. The majority of routes are designed for you to drive yourself. you’ll provide your own transportation.

I want to be a guide. Can I? Well, we’ll have to get to know you, so get in touch with us and tell us about yourself. You’d need to be very involved in your city’s beverage culture, be able to keep groups of people on time, and have lots and lots of enthusiasm.
