AFTER CRAWL PARTY - LATTE ART THROWDOWN
Coffee Slingers will be hosting a Latte Art Throwdown and party after the Caffeine Crawl. Registration starts at 4:30p and ends right before the competition begins at 5p. There will be coffee cocktails, trivia between rounds,a food truck, and beer from Black Mesa Brewing, We'll have lots of prizes for baristas in the Throwdown including a Baratza Encore, Acaia scale, Barista Magazine goodies, LAB cocktail coaster set, and a Coffee Slingers gift pack.
In order to immerse a non-industry audience into the fun, there will be 16 teams made up of baristas and those who have always wanted to be behind the espresso machine. Baristas will pour by themselves in rounds 1 and 3, and the barista + team member will be in rounds 2 and 4 together.
Competing baristas should coach their team member on how to free pour to victory. This will be crucial to the first round and every other round after that. Teams will be judged on the definition of the milk, speed, and resemblance to a rosetta, tulip or heart.
