Interaction Experience of the Virtual Crawl
This group of questions have been inspired or asked by you, the viewer?
Response #1A: Hahaha. My parent set me up with the good looking barista once. They told the barista about me and the next time I stopped in the barista asked me out on a date. Unfortunately, the date was a bust but we still had a nice time.
Response #1B: Handmade crank style burr grinder.

Q: How common are nursery cafes or other similar partnerships?
A: We are starting to see more of them pop up throughout the country, and even a few within KC. It’s exciting and awesome to watch people get close to plants! Anything that gets people closer to plants, and nature, in general, is a step in the right direction.
We’ve had several other nurseries, and cafes, reach out to us to get ideas on how it can work for both businesses. What we have learned - It has to be a mutually beneficial partnership in order to work. It MUST work for both parties involved. Otherwise “it’s cute” and “trendy” but if it doesn’t pay the bills and add value to BOTH parties, then it has a shelf life and will blow away at the next whisper of “anime cafe” or “experiencing-this-&-that” cafe.
Coffee must stop being looked at as a “loss leader” or “amenity”…like a blasé Starbucks in a sorry, forgotten corner of Target…who really cares about that model other than Rosey-glass developers or caffeine (not coffee) junkies? Yes, I said it, junkies. Its a tired model that will go the way of dinosaur before too long.
We have shown a much different, value-add, intentional model where as many people as possible win and our mutual mentality with our relationship has to respect the others brand, process, and systems, but have the patience, and faith that hey are pushing to be the best version of themselves possible.

Q: Your shop space has incredible artistic vibe too - was the decision to marry art in coffee, visual art, and coffee cocktails as a flavor/art form intentional? To what degree, and how did it happen?
A: Great question! Yes and no. While we didn’t explicitly say to ourselves “let’s marry visual art, design and drinks as an art form”; rather, we wanted to create a space that felt like an extension of us, and we are both creative in ways outside of creating drinks. Each of us has an art background (photography and art history) so it happened pretty naturally! We designed the space ourselves, and do all of our internal design choices, so our tastes and styles feel intrinsic in our thought processes and the brand. Thanks for asking!!

Q: How big a challenge is advertising your business because you're always on the move?
A: Our main form of advertising is posting stories of events happening, or repeated reminders of our weekly schedule. Re-sharing other people’s stories where we are featured is also key, and creates hype. As for physical advertising, we put our logo and Instagram handle on every cup! You’d be surprised at how often that comes in handy. “You can find our schedule and any update on our instagram! It’s right there on your cup for you to reference”
Q: Are your creative, in house specialty drinks a product of surfing the web for recipes, "playing in the kitchen," or a combination?
A: It almost always has to do with a combination of what people have requested to see as a special, and what’s in season/ relevant. For example, last summer when the Barbie movie came out and was all the rage we did like 3 weeks in a row of bright pink drinks, different flavors. Another time this summer I had a surplus of mint and cucumbers from my garden so we did a cucumber mint lemonade! We’ve also had requests recently for mango flavoring (not just smoothies), so having a mango tajin drink on our menu right now has been a blast!
